Nicole Semenoff, a member of BCLC’s Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging team, said: “As one of the main organizers of this initiative, collaborating with other impactful organizations in Kamloops to give back to our community was incredible. Connection is everything to fostering a sense of belonging in a community and to walk across the street from our office and make even one human connection was meaningful beyond words.”

Alfred Achoba, executive director at the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), added: “Empathy, respect, and willingness to listen can make a real difference in someone’s life. It creates dignity, trust, and community.”

Recently, the BCLC reminded the public to be cautious of social media scams that imitate BC casinos and trick individuals into providing financial details on illegitimate websites. BCLC and its casino partners are working on having the posts removed.
