BC casinos grow on slots revenue
Revenue at British Columbia casinos and gaming centres continues to grow, fueled by slot machines.
Canada.- Slot machines are a key feature for British Columbia casinos as recent reports in the province show the industry grew on slots revenue. Even as two of the three top facilities in Vancouver are fueled by table game revenue, slot machines drove income at most of the rest of all casinos and gaming centres in the area.
Table games revenue was higher in the top five casinos in British Columbia but slot machine performance showed better growth during the third quarter. Average slot machine revenue for all casino and gaming centres on the list increased by 7% compared with average table game revenue, which increased by 4.4%.
River Rock Casino Resort saw slots revenue up 1%, while table game income was down 6%. Hard Rock Casino Vancouver also reported a 4.5% table game revenue drop, in opposition to its 10% slots revenue increase. Other venues posted growth in both but slots were better: Grand Villa Casino (slots +9%, table games +4%), Parq Vancouver (slots +20%, table games +12%), Cascades Casino Resort (slots +10%, table games +9%).
Average casinos collect €40 million annually in slot machine revenue as the segment as a whole generates higher revenues for the industry. Table game revenue averages €26.3 million a year.
