Bally’s Chicago casino gets permanent gaming licence
The temporary casino will continue operating at Medinah Temple until 2026.
US.- The Illinois Gaming Board has voted to allow Bally’s to convert its temporary operating permit into a full casino licence. The move allows the company to advance with its $1.7bn gaming venue in Chicago.
The IGB also voted to allow Bally’s to extend its lease at Medinah Temple by a year. Medinah Temple will remain as a temporary casino until 2026, giving Bally’s another year to complete its permanent site in River West.
Bally’s opened its temporary casino last month. The venue features 750 slot machines and 50 table games. The permanent Bally’s Chicago will be at the 30-acre Chicago Tribune Publishing Center at the intersection of Chicago Avenue and Halsted Street. The resort will feature 3,400 slots, 170 table games and 10 food and beverage venues. It will have a 500-room hotel tower with a rooftop bar and a 65,000-square-foot entertainment centre.
