Atlantic City gets a new sportsbook
Resorts Casino Hotel will open its own sportsbook on Wednesday, the fifth in the city after the segment got legalised statewide.
US.- The Supreme Court of the United States struck the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) down and allowed states to legalise sports betting. New Jersey was the first to get the segment up and running and, as of next Wednesday, it will have five operating sportsbooks in the city.
Resorts Casino Hotel, the oldest of Atlantic City’s casinos, is celebrating its 40th anniversary and will have its own sportsbook to do so. DraftKings signed a deal to operate the operation for Resorts and became the first to offer mobile sports betting in the state.
The business will operate next to Bar One, on the casino floor, and will begin operating this Wednesday at 11 a.m. after it passes routine regulatory approval from the New Jersey Gambling Commission. It will have six betting windows and four self-serve kiosks and will become the latest to join a market that already has Bally’s, Borgata, Harrah’s and Ocean Resort among Atlantic City properties taking sports wagers.
