Zhuhai issues 1,000 daily quarantine exceptions
The system for Macau residents to move freely to Zhuhai had to be suspended due to high demand.
Macau.- The system to grant Macau residents exceptions to move freely to and from Zhuhai without having to go through a 14-day quarantine had to be suspended on Monday due to high demand.
Over 7,600 applications were received after the measure was announced on June 11.
The Public Security Police Force (CPSP) has therefore announced that Zhuhai will issue only 1,000 quarantine exemptions per day.
The idea is to allow Macau residents exemptions to Zhuhai for business reasons or other very specific motives.
Eligible residents still need to have a negative nucleic acid test. If they pass this, the test results are valid for seven days.
Residents exempted from quarantine will have to cross the border at the Lotus border or the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge border.
