Wynn Resorts interest in Japan IR “undiminished”
Wynn Resorts continues to closely monitor the integrated resort situation in Japan.
Japan.- Although Wynn Resorts has officially withdrawn its interest in Yokohama‘s IR project, a spokesman says Japan remains firmly on the company’s long-term radar.
Wynn closed its Yokohama office in 2020 to focus on its US and Macau operations amid the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
However, the company has said that it still views the country as a strong potential market.
A spokesperson said: “While Wynn’s positive pursuit of an IR development in the country is undiminished, it will not be participating in the upcoming request for proposal process by the City of Yokohama, because there is not yet clarity regarding the post-Covid-19 international IR market.”
