Thai police dismantles two World Cup online betting networks

Both sites were found to be offering illegal betting on international football matches.

Thailand.- Thai authorities have shut down two major online football betting networks in Udon Thani as part of intensified enforcement during the ongoing World Cup period, which runs from June 11 to July 19, 2026.

The operation, led by the Police Operations Centre in coordination with Provincial Police Region 1 investigators, targeted two platforms identified as “member.ufa47” and “ufad1.” Both sites were found to be offering illegal betting on international football matches alongside casino-style games, including slots and baccarat.

Investigators said “member.ufa47” had been active for more than two years, accumulating 54,886 users and generating monthly turnover of over 60 million baht, or more than 720 million baht annually. The second platform, “ufad1,” operated for over six months with 48,380 users and recorded turnover exceeding 100 million baht in the past three months.

Search warrants issued by the Udon Thani Provincial Court were executed at two residential properties in Mueang district believed to be operational bases for the networks. Police arrested 15 individuals in total who were allegedly responsible for customer support, financial processing, and account management.

Authorities also seized multiple items of digital evidence, including more than 20 computers, several mobile phones, and networking equipment used to run the platforms.

Investigators said the arrested suspects were part of a coordinated structure handling deposits, payouts, and user communication, with each reportedly receiving a fixed monthly salary for their roles. All 15 individuals reportedly admitted involvement during questioning.

They now face charges related to illegal gambling operations and money laundering offences, and remain in custody pending further legal proceedings.
