PAGCOR reports net income increase in first half of 2025

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation’s net income rose by 64.3 per cent year-over-year.
 

The Philippines.- The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation’s (PAGCOR) net income totalled PHP10.8bn (US$188m) in the first half of 2025, up 64.3 per cent year-over-year. According to the agency, it increased its contributions to Php38.1bn, up 20 per cent from PHP31.8bn (US$552m) in the same period last year.

The bulk of the revenue came from gaming operations and licence fee shares amounting to PHP53.4bn (US$928m), while PHP5.7bn (US$99) came from other related services and non-gaming income.

PAGCOR chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco, said: “Of our total CNB, PHP25.36bn (US$440m) was remitted to the National Treasury as the mandated government share. From that government share, PHP30m (US$521,000) was remitted to the Dangerous Drugs Board while half of the remaining amount – around PHP12.7bn (US$221m) – was the PhilHealth share.

“If the current pace continues, our UHC contribution could reach PHP25bn (US$434m) by yearend, enough to provide PHP10,000 worth of healthcare assistance to over 2.5 million Filipinos. This is the kind of impact we strive for: turning revenues from regulated gaming into direct public benefit. Our first-half performance reaffirms PAGCOR’s role as a vital government partner. We remain focused on continuously strengthening our regulatory framework to ensure that revenues from regulated gaming will continue to benefit the public good.”

PAGCOR paid PHP2.7bn (US$46.9) in franchise taxes to the Bureau of Internal Revenue. PHP7.9bn (US$137m) went to socio-civic initiatives including the President’s Social Fund, and that the Philippine Sports Commission received PHP1.3bn (US$22.6m).

PAGCOR remitted PHP269.2m in corporate income tax, while local government units hosting Casino Filipino branches received PHP341m. The Board of Claims received PHP109.2m and the Renewable Energy Trust Fund, PHP157.35m.

Philippine gross gaming revenue increases in first half of 2025

Gross gaming revenue (GGR) in the Philippines totalled PHP214.75bn (US$3.74bn) in the first half of 2025, up 26 per cent from PHP171bn (US$2.98bn) in the same period in 2024. E-games represented 53.47 per cent of total GGR.

According to the PAGCOR, the e-games and e-bingo segment led the market with PHP114.83bn (US$2bn) in gross revenues. Licensed casinos, including integrated resorts and brick-and-mortar casinos in Metro Manila, Clark, Cebu, La Union and Rizal, reported PHP93.36bn (US$1.65bn). PAGCOR-operated casinos generated PHP6.56bn, representing 3.06 per cent of industry GGR.

For the first quarter, gross gaming revenue (GGR) in the Philippines was PHP104.12bn (US$1.88bn), up 27.44 per cent year-on-year.
