The Australian slots machines manufacturer will be the the European group’s commercial and sales representative in Asia.

Australia.- European gaming technology provider Novomatic has inked a non-exclusive distribution agreement with the Australian gaming machines manufacturer Ainsworth.

The latter will act as a sales and service unit for Novomatic in all Asia Pacific markets, including Australia and New Zealand.

The European group plans to sell slot machines, market-focused games and multi-game editions, ETGs, casino management and media systems, as well as sports betting solutions in Asia.

In a press release the firm said Robert Dijkstra, Ainsworth’s newly appointed VP for business development and sales, Asia Pacific, will now be representing both brands. Dijkstra was formerly Novomatic’s representative in the region.

Dijkstra said: “By bringing the two companies together we can increase the diversity of offerings to our customer base through the one channel. I am looking forward to overseeing this progressive development and believe it will benefit all stakeholders.”

Novomatic’s sales manager for Southeast Asia, Michael Barsin, will also join Ainsworth as of October 1.

This deal could be a boon for the Australian supplier, which has been axing jobs to save costs. It saw a 36 per cent loss in revenue in the last financial year.
