Newport World Resorts appoints Wee Li Chua as chief digital and customer experience officer
Wee Li Chua most recently served as vice president for information technology at Inspire Entertainment Resort.
The Philippines.- Newport World Resorts has named Wee Li Chua as its chief digital and customer experience officer. The company described him as a “seasoned professional with over 15 years of experience”. He most recently served as vice president for information technology at Inspire Entertainment Resort, in South Korea.

Wee Li Chua worked as chief information officer at Capital C Corp, and as vice president and chief information officer in Bloomberry Resorts and Hotels’ Solaire Resort & Casino in Metro Manila. He also worked as a project manager and IT business analyst at Marina Bay Sands, in Singapore.
In March, the company appointed Fabian Tan Kian Wee and Alvin Teo as directors for international marketing.
Travellers International Hotel Group, which operates the Newport World Resorts casino complex, reported gross gaming revenue (GGR) of PHP7.9bn (US$141.6m) for Q1, up 6 per cent in year-on-year terms. The company attributed the rise to higher win rates in the cash tables and VIP segments.
Non-gaming revenues from hotels, food, beverage and other operating income was up 4 per cent year-on-year to PHP1.8bn (US$32.26m). The company cited higher occupancy rates benefiting from the recovery in both domestic and international tourism.
