Authorities in New Zealand have announced that the country will reopen its borders for fully vaccinated foreign visitors from April 2022.

New Zealand.- International travellers who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 will be able to enter New Zealand from April 30. However, they will still need to complete a 7-day self-quarantine.

Chris Hipkins, minister for Covid-19 response, said: “Closing our border was one of the first steps we took to keep our country safe from Covid-19 and it’ll be the last thing we open up, following our transition into the traffic light protection framework system and lifting of the Auckland boundary.”

From January 16, fully vaccinated New Zealanders can return from Australia without administrative quarantine. Citizens will be allowed to return home from all other countries from February 13.

Hipkins added: “A phased approach to reconnecting with the world is the safest approach to ensure risk is carefully managed. This reduces any potential impacts on vulnerable communities and the New Zealand health system.”

SkyCity expects to reopen Auckland venue on December 3

SkyCity Entertainment expects to reopen its venue in Auckland for fully vaccinated customers from December 3. A week ago, the company announced the reopening of its casino and entertainment facilities in Hamilton with additional health and safety measures in place to reflect the Ministry of Health’s latest recommendations and guidelines.

SkyCity Queenstown is open since Queenstown is at level 2. The company also has venues outside of New Zealand. Its properties in Adelaide and the SkyCity Online Casino are open.

In October, the casino operator decided to allow only vaccinated customers to enter its casinos. It will require Covid-19 vaccination certificates for entry to all SkyCity venues in New Zealand.
