SkyCity Auckland remains closed while Auckland remains at Covid-19 Alert Level 3. SkyCity Queenstown is open since Queenstown is at level 2. The company also has venues outside of New Zealand. Its properties in Adelaide and the SkyCity Online Casino are open.
SkyCity will only allow vaccinated people to enter its casinos
SkyCity has decided to allow only vaccinated customers to enter its casinos. It will require Covid-19 vaccination certificates for entry to all SkyCity venues in New Zealand.
According to Michael Ahearne, SkyCity’s CEO, the casino operator has the highest available levels of protection against Covid-19 in place and is meeting its legal obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 but he said research had confirmed that “Covid-19 vaccines will provide the best protection for our staff and customers.”
He added: “SkyCity expects the CVC requirement will cover all employees (around 2,900), customers, contractors and visitors at our New Zealand sites to protect them from the harmful effects of Covid-19.”
