Melco Resorts to pay bonus to non-management staff
Casino developer and operator said a “one-month discretionary bonus” would be paid to “all eligible non-management employees” following stellar 2019.
Macau.- Melco Resorts and Entertainment Ltd has taken the same measure as some of its rival casino operators announcing a bonus for its eligible non-management employees working in Macau.
“Ahead of Chinese New Year, we are pleased to announce a discretionary bonus in recognition of our eligible non-management colleagues’ hard work, loyalty and dedication to the company throughout the past 12 months,” said Lawrence Ho Yau Lung, Melco Resorts Chairman and Chief Executive, in a statement in Wednesday’s release.
The casino developer and operator said a “one-month discretionary bonus” would be paid to “all eligible non-management employees on or before January 17, 2020”. Nevertheless, the company did not specify how many workers were eligible for the payment.
It is common for gaming operators to give a bonus to employees around the Chinese New Year period, which this years falls on January 25. Before the announcement, other Macau market rival casino operators such as MGM China Holdings Ltd, Wynn Macau Ltd, Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd and SJM Holdings Ltd confirmed the payment of a bonus to their employees.
MGM China Holdings will pay an amount equivalent to “one month’s salary,” separated in two parts: the first in mid-January and the second in early February.
Wynn Macau will also pay a bonus equivalent to one month’s gross salary and more than 97 percent of the firm’s 13,700 workforce employed at both properties Wynn Macau, on the peninsula, and Wynn Palace, in the city’s Cotai district, will receive the winter bonus.
Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd will also deliver a bonus of one months’ salary to team members at the Senior Manager level and below.
