Macau’s The 13 Hotel back on sale
A previous auction did not attract any successful bids.
Macau.- Real estate consultancy Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) has announced that the 13 Hotel in Seac Pai Van, Coloane, has been listed for sale again. According to a post on LinkedIn, the tender listed with real estate consultancy Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) will close at 6pm on May 19. The valuation has not been announced.
In 2024, JLL listed the hotel for sale with an asking price of HK$2.4bn (US$309.2m) but the auction did not attract any successful bids. The hotel halted operations in February 2020 amid the Covid-19 pandemic. However, it partially reopened last July after receiving a renewed five-star deluxe hotel licence from the Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO), which has since been extended to the end of 2025.
It first opened in 2018 and features 196 guest rooms ranging from 1,800 to 5,000 square feet, as well as three villa-style suites, each spanning 10,000 square feet. The property also includes restaurants, a spa, a gym, and a car park.
The hotel has been hampered by failure to obtain a gaming licence. Parent company, South Shore, declared bankruptcy and was delisted from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2023.
Mark Wong, a senior director at JLL in Macau, said: “The five-star hotel for sale has garnered significant attention due to its luxurious design and opulence. Currently managed by JLL, The 13 Hotel has reinstated parts of the property to its former condition.
“With excellent transport links, including a nearby railway station just three minutes away, the property’s potential for appreciation is further enhanced. The opportunity to acquire the entire hotel is expected to be highly sought after by investors.”
