Macau promotional roadshow heads to Bangkok

The MGTO, gaming operators and airlines will stage a roadshow in Bangkok from June 6 to 8.

Thailand.- The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) will hold a three-day roadshow in Bangkok from Friday (June 6) to June 8 to promote Macau’s tourism offerings. The Macao Wonder event will feature booths from the city’s six gaming operators as well as online and offline travel agencies and airlines from Thailand. There will be a range of Macau tourism products and special offers.

The MGTO will also be at the Macao Tourism + MICE Product Updates Seminar & Travel Mart today (June 5) with the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute. It will also lead a business networking session to engage members of the travel trade. They will discuss collaboration opportunities and new Macao itineraries and products for visitors from Thailand and Southeast Asia.

On the same day, MGTO will meet with the Thai Chinese Chamber of Commerce for a dialogue on tourism, MICE, trade and commerce as well as consular protection between Macao and Thailand, among other topics.

Thailand ranks as fifth largest international visitor market

According to Macau’s statistics for January to April this year, Thailand ranks as its eighth-largest visitor market. In April alone, the city received 9,000 visitors from Thailand. That’s an increase of 28.4 per cent in year-on-year terms. In 2024, the city received 134,658 Thai tourists, up 29.8 per cent year-on-year.

Currently, three airlines, Air Macau, Thai AirAsia and Thai Lion Air, offer regular direct flights between Bangkok and Macao, with 54 flights per week.
