Macau visitor arrivals surpass 1 million in first six days of Golden Week
Macau recorded more than 1.05 million visitor arrivals between October 1 and October 6.
Macau.- The visitor count for Macau’s Golden Week ticked beyond the million mark on the sixth day of the holiday period. According to provisional data from the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and the Public Security Police Force, 1,051,641 arrivals were recorded between October 1 and October 6, averaging 175,274 arrivals per day.
Visitor arrivals peaked on October 4, when Macau recorded 210,276 entries, following 191,661 on October 3 and 179,253 on October 2. Arrivals then eased to 169,631 on October 5 and 131,185 yesterday (October 6). Mainland China remains the city’s largest visitor source market and the Border Gate the busiest entry point.
Macau authorities had forecast between 5.2 million and 5.4 million total border crossings during the October 1-7 holiday, equivalent to an average of 740,000 to 770,000 movements per day.
