Macau records over 920,000 visitor arrivals in first five days of Golden Week

Macau.- The October Golden Week visitor tally in Macau has reached 920,659 over the first five days of the seven-day holiday period. Traffic peaked on October 4, when 210,325 arrivals were recorded, a new single-day record for an October Golden Week. Arrival numbers eased yesterday to 169,000
Daily arrivals for the first three days were 169,635 on October 1, 179,253 on October 2 and 191,661 on October 3. Mainland China is the primary source market, with visitors from the mainland accounting for 467,348, or 86.5 per cent, of arrivals during the first three days. Hong Kong was the second-largest source market, contributing 51,423 arrivals.
On October 4, the Border Gate recorded more than 98,000 visitor arrivals, while more than 45,000 entered through Hengqin and over 29,000 crossed via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge. Total movements, including residents and other travellers, exceeded 844,000. Visitor movements alone exceeded 424,000, comprising approximately 210,000 arrivals and nearly 214,000 departures.
Across the first four days, the Border Gate accounted for 355,199 visitor arrivals, followed by Hengqin with 163,189 and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge with 104,057. Macau authorities had forecast between 5.2 million and 5.4 million total border crossings during the October 1-7 holiday, equivalent to an average of 740,000 to 770,000 movements per day.
