Macau Airport surpasses 3.8 million passengers in first half of 2026

The Macau International Airport recorded its highest volume in March.

Macau.- Statistics released by Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) show that Macau International Airport (MIA) handled 3.89 million passenger movements during the first half of 2026. That’s a 7.9 per cent increase compared to the same period last year.

The growth was primarily in the first four months of the year, with March the busiest month (731,755 passenger movements). Traffic moderated in the latter part of the period, with a year-on-year decline of 0.4 per cent in May and 9.3 per cent in June.

The airport reported 31,851 aircraft movements during the first six months of the year, up 1.5 per cent year-on-year, while cargo volumes reached 53,820 tonnes, representing an increase of 1.4 per cent.

The Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) reported that the number of visitor arrivals in Macau increased by 9 per cent year-on-year to 20,944,446 in the first half of 2026. Same-day visitors (12,889,844) and overnight visitors (8,054,602) rose by 15.3 per cent and 0.2 per cent, respectively. The average length of stay of visitors shortened by 0.1 day to 1.0 day, with that of overnight visitors (2.3 days) unchanged.
