Genting steps up Coronavirus prevention measures
Additional cleaning and the installation of hand sanitiser dispensers among additional measures being rolled out.
Malaysia.- Resorts World Genting has announced additional measures aimed at protecting guests and staff while the Coronavirus outbreak continues to spread across Asia and beyond.
Executive Vice-President of Leisure and Hospitality, Datuk Edward Holloway, said these measures included increasing the cleaning frequency of escalators and lift buttons and placing sanitiser gel throughout the resort.
Information notices regarding Coronavirus have been placed around the resort with thermal scanners deployed at the cable car entry points, designated checkpoints and all entrances.
Anyone with flu-like symptoms such as fever and cough will asked to seek medical assistance at clinics. The team is also monitoring global updates on the outbreak.
“We want to reassure everybody that we are doing as much as possible to practise due care because life must go on. We can fight the virus,” Holloway said.
“To date, there has been no record of anyone in the resort being diagnosed with the virus. We are open for business as usual.”
Regarding cancellations from tour groups, Holloway said the operator was offering refunds: “We don’t want to penalise anyone. We have to be fair to everyone. Together we can fight this.”
