SJM donates US$2.5 million to fight against Coronavirus

Money will be used to purchase much-needed medical supplies and protective equipment in Hubei Province.

Macau.- Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, S.A. (SJM) has donated MOP20 million (US$2.5 million) to Hubei Province to help the region in its fight against the Coronavirus outbreak.

Ms Daisy Ho, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SJM, said, “The donation carries with it our sincerest wishes for the Hubei people and for our Motherland. SJM stands firmly with the Macau SAR government and all Macau people in efforts to contain the spread of the Coronavirus. We wish a speedy recovery to all people and all economies that are affected by the virus.”

The money will be used to purchase much-needed medical supplies and protective equipment. Last week, Galaxy Entertainment Group and Melco also donated US$2.5 million and Meg Star Group sent US$1.2 million to help with containment and treatment efforts in the region.
