Crown Perth names Brian Pereira as CEO
The casino has also named Ben Wyatt as chairman and director.
Australia.- Crown Perth has announced the appointment of a new chief executive officer (CEO) and chairman. Brian Pereira has been named CEO after serving in the role on an interim basis since last August. Ben Wyatt has been named director and chairman.
Pereira joined Crown Perth in 2023 as chief financial officer. Before that, he was CFO at Perth Airport. He has worked in the tourism, entertainment, aviation, and banking sectors in Australia and the United Kingdom.
Wyatt replaces John Van Der Wielen, who will remain on the board for some months to allow a transition. Wyatt has spent 15 years in the West Australian State Parliament, holding several ministerial roles, including treasurer.
Crown Resorts CEO David Tsai said: “I am confident that these two appointments, with their deep local knowledge of the WA tourism sector and economy, will lead the Perth team into the next exciting era of growth.”

New appointments at Crown Melbourne
In April, Crown Resorts announced the appointment of Martin Pakula as chairman of Crown Melbourne’s board of directors. He will succeed Ian Silk from July 1, subject to regulatory approval.
Pakula has previously worked as attorney-general, and minister for tourism, sport, and major events in the Victorian government. He currently serves as chair of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation.
Pakula said: “I am delighted to accept the role of Chair at Crown Melbourne and to play a role in its exciting future. Crown is an iconic business that is a critical part of Victoria’s economy, tourism and entertainment industry.”
Blackstone Group named Silk as chairman of Crown Melbourne in 2022 amid attempts to clean up the image of the casino operator. The company said: “Silk’s strong leadership through the organisation’s operational and cultural transformation, saw Crown Melbourne regain its licence from the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission.”
