Crown Melbourne names Martin Pakula as chairman

Australia.- Crown Resorts has announced the appointment of Martin Pakula as chairman of Crown Melbourne’s board of directors. He will succeed Ian Silk from July 1, subject to regulatory approval.

Pakula has previously worked as attorney-general, and minister for tourism, sport, and major events in the Victorian government. He currently serves as chair of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation.

Blackstone Group named Silk as chairman of Crown Melbourne in 2022 amid attempts to clean up the image of the casino operator. The company said: “Silk’s strong leadership through the organisation’s operational and cultural transformation, saw Crown Melbourne regain its licence from the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission.”
