New Brisbane casino to feature 2,500 slot machines

Queen’s Wharf will open in 2022 and feature 800 more slot machines than the current Brisbane casino license holder, The Treasury.

Australia.- A new AU$ 3.6 billion casino in Brisbane, Australia will feature an estimated 2,500 slot machines according to the Managing Director.

The Queen’s Wharf, which will open in 2022, will feature 800 more slot machines than the current Brisbane casino license holder, The Treasury.

Based right next to the Brisbane River, Star Entertainment Group originally won the rights to develop an Integrated Resort back in 2015, while construction began in 2019.

Star Queensland Managing Director, Geoff Hogg, confirmed the 800 additional slot machines, while also adding information regarding the future closure of The Treasury.

He said: “There has been no change to the casino’s licensing conditions, so Brisbane will still be having only one casino.

“So when the new Queen’s Wharf development opens, the existing casino will close and the new casino will open.”

In March, Star Entertainment laid off 90 per cent of its workforce due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
