The ACMA has told Australian internet service providers to block six illegal offshore gambling websites.

Australia.- The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has told Australian internet service providers (ISPs) to block 6 offshore gambling websites. According to the ACMA, the websites were operating in breach of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.

The sites are Pokies Parlour, Ninja Spins, Pokies Online Casino, CasinoAus, Australian Casino Sites and AU Online Casino.

Since the ACMA made its first blocking request in November 2019, 426 illegal gambling websites have been blocked while over 160 illegal services have also pulled out of the Australian market since the ACMA started enforcing new illegal offshore gambling rules in 2017.

A month ago, the regulator had ordered the blocking of 12 offshore gambling websites. In November 2021, the ACMA ordered the blocking of two illegal offshore lottery websites for the first time.
