Australia: ACMA orders blocking of 12 illegal gambling websites

The ACMA has requested Australian internet service providers block 12 more illegal offshore gambling websites.

Australia.- The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has told Australian internet service providers (ISPs) to block 12 offshore gambling websites. According to the ACMA, the websites were operating in breach of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.

The sites to be blocked are:

  • Zebet
  • Zeturf
  • Slot Vibe
  • Arlekin Casino
  • Johnnie Kash Kings
  • Lucky Star
  • Horus Casino
  • Tangiers Casino
  • 7 Reels
  • 21 Dukes
  • Winward Casino
  • Thebes Casino

Since November 2019, 399 illegal gambling websites have been blocked. Last December, the regulator ordered the blocking of other 14 offshore gambling websites.

Over 160 illegal services have also pulled out of the Australian market since the ACMA started enforcing new illegal offshore gambling rules in 2017. In November, the regulator requested local internet services providers block two illegal offshore lottery websites. The two sites were the first lottery sites blocked in Australia.
