Casino Del Sol Vahi Taaʼam opening date announced

The new 163,000-square-foot casino in Tucson will open in November.

US.- The Pascua Yaqui Tribe’s Casino Del Sol Vahi Taaʼam, will open in Southern Arizona on November 15. It will be the tribe’s third gaming location.

The new 163,000-square-foot destination is located at 1055 W. Grant Road at Interstate 10. The name Vahi Taaʼam means “three suns” in Yoeme, the language of the Pascua Yaqui people. This was chosen to represent light and a bright future for the community, the Tribe and guests.

The venue has domed ceilings, patterned terrazzo tile, wood accents, archways and rustic ironwork. There’s a 24,000-square-foot mural by Tucson artist Joe Pagac.

The 52,334-square-foot gaming floor will have 924 slot machines, including 56 high-limit games, seven bar-top gaming stations at the Center Bar, table games, a high-limit lounge and a SolSports sportsbook. There will be four food and beverage venues and a four-level parking structure with 1,200 spaces. The company said the casino is expected to create approximately 500 new jobs.

Amanda Sampson Lomayesva, interim CEO of Casino Del Sol, said: “Casino Del Sol, Vahi Taaʼam is more than a new property — it is a declaration of what the Pascua Yaqui Tribe stands for: a future as bright as the three suns its name evokes. We look forward to opening these doors, to welcoming the nearly 500 people who will work within these walls, and to bringing this experience to the heart of Tucson.”

Julian Hernandez, chairman of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe, added: “Every design choice, every partnership, every hire — all of it flows from the same source: our culture, our people, and our responsibility to the Tucson community we have called home for generations. Casino Del Sol, Vahi Taaʼam is built on Old Pascua Community land, and it carries that meaning with it. November 15 cannot come soon enough.”

The Arizona Department of Gaming (ADG) recently reported that bettors in the state wagered $737.2m, in April, down 1.2 per cent year-over-year. For fiscal year 2026 year-to-date, regulated event wagering and fantasy sports have generated $53.8m in privilege fees.
