Togo’s National Lottery announces a new Sunday game Loto Détente
LONATO will introduce its first dedicated Sunday draw with the launch of Loto Détente, increasing its total number of weekly lottery draws to 14.
Togolese Republic.- The Togolese Republic’s National Lottery (LONATO) has unveiled Loto Détente, a new Sunday lottery game that will introduce the operator’s first dedicated Sunday draw and increase its total number of weekly lottery draws to 14.
The new game was announced during a press conference in Lomé on July 30, according to Togo First. Loto Détente, which translates as “Relaxation Lotto,” follows the same format as LONATO’s existing lottery draws, with its inaugural draw set for the first week of August and each draw producing 10 winning numbers.
Justin Amédomé, LONATO’s director of marketing and innovation, said: “Loto Détente is held on Sundays. The game also includes the Double Chance option, which gives our players more opportunities to win.”
The new dedicated Sunday draw marks LONATO’s latest product expansion after the operator introduced Loto Matinal, a third daily lottery draw, in 2024 as part of efforts to broaden its games portfolio and increase player participation.
The launch comes as Togo continues operating under the 2026 Finance Law, which introduced new tax and compliance measures for the gambling sector. Since January 1 2026, lottery winnings of CFA500,000 (US$870) or more have been subject to a 5 per cent withholding tax collected automatically by the Togolese Revenue Office (OTR). Qualifying pay-outs must also be recorded through certified electronic invoicing as part of the country’s broader tax compliance reforms.
