Tanzania Gaming Board signs local government agreement to strengthen gambling oversight

The agreement formalises cooperation between the gaming regulator and local government authorities on the management of gaming activities.

Tanzania.- The Gaming Board of Tanzania (GBT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Prime Minister’s Office – Regional Administration and Local Government (PMO-RALG) to strengthen collaboration on the management of gaming activities in Tanzania.

The agreement was signed on June 23 by James Mbalwe, GBT director general, and Adolf Ndunguru, PMO-RALG permanent secretary. It establishes a framework for cooperation in public awareness, information sharing, capacity building and joint monitoring of compliance with gaming laws.

The GBT said: “This partnership demonstrates a shared commitment to good governance, accountability, and improved service delivery through effective institutional collaboration.”

PMO-RALG is responsible for regional administration and local government authorities in Tanzania, while the GBT regulates and oversees gaming activities in the country.
