Tanzania Gaming Board joins governance forum as Bronze Sponsor

GBT joins major internal audit gathering as regulator expands institutional and regional cooperation.

Tanzania.- Tanzania’s Gaming Board (GBT) has joined the 13th Annual Governance Forum and 19th Annual Internal Audit Conference as a Bronze Sponsor. The Institute of Internal Auditors Tanzania (IIA Tanzania) announced the sponsorship ahead of the five-day event, which takes place at the Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC) from September 21-25, 2026.

IIA Tanzania said: “The Gaming Board of Tanzania plays a critical role in ensuring fair play, compliance, and driving responsible industry growth across the nation.”

The event will run under the theme “Beyond Assurance: Driving Insight, Innovation & Trust.” The Governance Forum is scheduled for September 21-22, with the Internal Audit Conference following on September 23-25. The programme will bring together government officials, business leaders, board members, auditors and professionals working in areas including risk and compliance.

IIA Tanzania said more than 2,000 delegates are expected from Tanzania and beyond, alongside speakers from across Tanzania and around the globe.

The sponsorship comes as GBT expands cooperation with government institutions and other gaming regulators. In June, GBT signed an MoU with the Prime Minister’s Office – Regional Administration and Local Government (PMO-TAMISEMI) covering public awareness, information sharing, capacity building and joint monitoring of compliance with gaming laws and regulations.

GBT also hosted Kenya’s National Lottery Board (NLB) in July for a learning visit focused on Tanzania’s National Lottery. The delegation examined Tanzania’s legal and institutional framework, regulatory mechanisms, operational systems, technology and stakeholder engagement as Kenya prepares to operationalise its own National Lottery.

The sponsorship adds another institutional engagement to GBT’s recent regulatory activity, alongside its work with government authorities and regional lottery counterparts.
