SportPesa celebrates Yanga SC’s 31st Championship with TZS262.5m bonus
The bonus represents an important milestone in the long-standing partnership between the sports betting company and the club, which began in 2017.
Tanzania.- Betting operator SportPesa has awarded Young Africans SC (Yanga SC) a bonus of TZS262.5m (€86,000) following the club’s victory in the 2024/25 Tanzanian Premier League. The award recognises Yanga SC’s fourth consecutive title and its 31st league championship overall.
The bonus represents an important milestone in the long-standing partnership between the sports betting company and the club, which began in 2017. It follows SportPesa and Young Africans SC’s three-year sponsorship renewal signed in August 2025, valued at TZS21.7bn (€7.1m). The agreement covers support for the men’s team, the women’s team, coaching development and club facilities.
The sponsorship arrangement has played a significant role in strengthening Yanga SC’s competitive position both domestically and on the continental stage. Club officials have previously credited sustained commercial backing as a key factor in improving squad depth, infrastructure and youth development.
SportPesa’s continued investment also aligns with its broader strategy of supporting sustainable football development, combining commercial partnerships with initiatives that promote growth at club, community and youth levels.
