Senegal’s National Lottery and ASP form committee to strengthen security nationwide
The Senegalese lottery operator and Agency for Proximity Security Assistance are developing a nationwide cooperation framework focused on securing LONASE infrastructure and pooling public resources.
Senegal.- Senegal’s National Lottery operator (LONASE) has moved to strengthen security around its nationwide infrastructure, opening talks with the Agency for Proximity Security Assistance (ASP) and establishing a technical committee to develop the proposed cooperation.
The development follows a meeting on August 27 between LONASE Director General Abdourahmane Baldé Doura and ASP Director General Seydina Oumar Touré at the ASP’s headquarters in Senegal.
The ad hoc committee comprises technical officials from LONASE and the ASP and will examine the modalities of the future cooperation and formulate proposals for its implementation, according to DirectActu.
The meeting formed part of a working mission focused on securing LONASE infrastructure across Senegal, with the two institutions exploring the pooling of resources, sharing of expertise, and more efficient use of public resources, DakarMedias reported. Baldé highlighted the ASP’s territorial network as a key advantage for developing cooperation covering the entire country.
ASP Director General Touré welcomed the discussions and highlighted the agency’s proximity-security expertise and operational network as potential strengths for the proposed cooperation.
The two organisations are also considering coordinated interventions, with the broader objective of improving the effectiveness of security arrangements around LONASE infrastructure while optimising public resources. The initiative is intended to strengthen institutional synergies between LONASE and the ASP while improving the protection of the lottery operator’s infrastructure.
The meeting marks an initial step towards a LONASE–ASP security partnership, with the technical committee now expected to develop proposals for putting the cooperation into practice.
