Senegal’s LONASE and Mauritius’ Lottotech join forces to boost lottery innovation

LONASE team visited Mauritius’ Lottotech to gain insights on innovation, operations and responsible gaming.

Mauritius.- Senegal’s National Lottery (LONASE), visited Mauritius’ Lottotech on a benchmarking mission aimed at enhancing operations and strengthening responsible gaming. The visit allowed LONASE to explore best practices, learn from Lottotech’s expertise and identify strategies to improve lottery services for players.

Toussaint Manga, General Manager of LONASE, said: “At LONASE, our ambition for excellence is inseparable from our commitment to responsible play. This learning session took a question specific dimension.”

During the session on December 4, LONASE engaged in discussions with Lottotech’s team on operational best practices and integrating responsible gambling into everyday lottery management. The learning mission forms part of LONASE’s strategy to strengthen its network and enhance the player experience while learning from established lottery operators internationally.

Manga highlighted Lottotech’s achievements in the sector. “Lottotech, owner of the lotto monopoly in Mauritius, has reached the prestigious Level 4 certification in Responsible Gambling. This is a model of rigour that we wish not only to understand, but also to adopt in our transformation strategy,” said Manga.

He described the session with Lottotech’s representatives. “We held an intensive working session with the experts of Lottotech. They shared with us the importance of this process, the complex certification procedures and the lessons learned along their journey.”

LONASE drives innovation and ethics

Representatives from Senegal and Mauritius meet to share best practices, strengthen collaboration and explore opportunities for lottery innovation.

The visit also highlighted Lottotech’s leadership in technological innovation and best practices, reinforcing LONASE’s commitment to exploring strategic international partnerships that can benefit players and strengthen the lottery sector in Senegal.

Reflecting on the broader implications of the visit, Manga emphasised the significance of trust and ethical practices.

He added: “As we leave this meeting, we remember that responsible gambling is not just an obligation, it is the basis of trust between our institutions and our bets. Certification is the tangible evidence of an ethical and secure management of our services.”
