LONASE opens new agency, expanding lottery access and driving economic growth in Senegal
The National Lottery of Senegal strengthens its presence, improving player access, supporting local vendors and driving economic growth in previously underserved areas.
Senegal.- The National Lottery of Senegal (LONASE) has launched a new agency, bringing lottery services closer to players and reinforcing the country’s gaming sector. The expansion in the city of Bignona improves accessibility for players, supports local vendors and stimulates economic activity in an area long underserved.
The Director General of LONASE, Toussaint Manga, inaugurated the new Bignona agency on November 23 in a formal ceremony. The event brought together administrative, military and territorial authorities, as well as representatives of sellers and bettors.
Manga said, according to APS: “The opening of this agency is part of LONASE’s policy to bring its services closer to citizens.”
He highlighted that transforming the former office into a full-fledged Bignona agency addresses both the commercial needs of LONASE and the economic and social expectations of Bignona’s residents.
He added that, despite Bignona’s significant potential, only “7 of the 19 municipalities” were previously covered by the LONASE network, reflecting a still low rate of densification and highlighting the department’s historical under-service.
Bignona Agency drives local growth

The Bignona agency also provides coverage for the neighbouring commune of Marsassoum. The department currently has 34 vendors, including the mini-shops in Cap Skirring and Bignona, each with five vendors, as well as a private PLR (privately operated LONASE sales point).
Manga said: “If we can better structure, support and energise this sales force, Bignona can become a major commercial hub for LONASE.”
According to Manga, this new establishment constitutes “a major step” in the implementation of LONASE’s vision, based on shared growth, territorial justice and economic solidarity, in line with the objectives of the Senegal 2050 framework.
He assured that LONASE will continue its efforts to offer better working conditions to employees and paid a “vibrant tribute” to all the workers, praising the sacrifices that made it possible to build the new infrastructure.
This expansion represents more than just a new lottery outlet; it is a strategic move to energise local commerce, provide regulated and accessible gaming options and reinforce LONASE’s role as a driver of economic and social development across the region.
