Nigeria’s Women in Gaming Network launches new intake following first mentorship cohort success
Nine mentees completed WiNG’s first structured leadership programme as the organisation expands efforts to strengthen female representation across Nigeria’s gaming industry.
Nigeria.- Nigeria’s Women in Nigeria Gaming (WiNG) Network is moving into the next phase of its mentorship drive after successfully closing the first cohort of its leadership development programme and opening registrations for Cohort 2.
The initiative, designed to support women building careers in Nigeria’s gaming industry, focussed on professional development, stronger leadership skills and increasing visibility for female talent across the sector. The organisation said the programme forms part of its broader effort to improve representation and leadership pipelines across betting, lottery, casino and broader igaming businesses.
WiNG is a professional network supporting women working across Nigeria’s gaming industry, with a focus on mentorship, leadership development and career advancement. The organisation aims to strengthen female representation across the sector while creating opportunities for networking, professional growth and greater industry visibility for women in gaming.
WiNG said the first cohort began with 15 mentees, with nine participants completing the full structured mentorship cycle. Participants reported gains in career clarity, increased confidence and self-awareness, stronger decision-making skills, valuable industry insight and the development of a stronger leadership mindset. WiNG said: “What started with 15 mentees evolved into a focussed and impactful experience, with nine mentees completing the structured mentorship cycle.”
Mentorship driving leadership growth
The organisation said the programme’s success extended beyond formal career support, creating deeper personal and professional transformation for participants. It said the programme encouraged greater confidence, visibility and ownership among participants.
“We saw a shift – from uncertainty to intentionality, from hesitation to visibility, and from passive learning to ownership. That is the true impact of mentorship,” said WiNG.
WiNG also recognised the contribution of mentors who supported the initiative, saying their guidance, industry knowledge and consistent engagement played a key role in shaping the programme’s outcomes. The organisation said the support structure created during Cohort 1 helped lay a stronger foundation for future editions of the programme.
It added that lessons from the first intake would be used to refine and strengthen future editions, with registration for Cohort 2 now open for members only. WiNG is encouraging professionals looking to grow within the gaming sector to join the network and participate in the next intake.
