Mobile wallets expand Guinea betting access
MTN Mobile Money and Orange Money enable smartphone users without bank accounts to deposit and bet on sports and casino games through platforms such as Guinée Games.
Guinea.– Mobile money services are opening up online gambling to Guineans lacking traditional bank accounts. Mobile money services such as MTN Mobile Money and Orange Money allow deposits, withdrawals and bets on sports betting and casino games via smartphones. Meanwhile, platforms like Guinée Games offer slots, table games and live sports markets with instant wallet transactions.
The operator says on its official site: ‘With Guinée Games, you can receive additional rewards and bonus money through the various bonuses and promotions available on the site and in the app.’
Mobile payments drive gambling growth
Football, basketball and international tournaments dominate Guinea’s sports betting, with live options proving popular. Online casinos have expanded as well, with slot machines and table games attracting increasing numbers of mobile users. Industry observers say mobile-firstgambling platforms appear to attract many players across Guinea, including those without access to traditional banking services.
The mobile money model is especially important in rural and semi-urban areas, where traditional banks are scarce. By contrast, mobile wallet penetration is high, making it the primary channel for both deposits and withdrawals. This mirrors broader trends in West Africa, where countries such as Senegal and Côte d’Ivoire have seen similar growth in digital gambling thanks to mobile payments.
