Mauritius.- Mauritius is set to kick off its 2026 horse racing season on April 25, with punters gearing up for high stakes racing and regulated betting at the historic Champ de Mars Racecourse.

The full season features 27 race meetings, following consultations with trainers and stakeholders to ensure a competitive and well-structured calendar. “The 2026 racing season will begin soon and includes the major races planned for the year,” according to a report in LeMauricien.

Integrity remains a central focus. “The Horse Racing Integrity Division is strengthening its integrity measures to ensure that competitions remain fair and transparent,” added the report.

Betting continues to be a core part of the Mauritian racing experience, with licensed bookmakers and authorised systems offering secure wagering markets for punters at race meetings and via approved channels.

The 2025 horse racing season at Champ de Mars was a huge success, with strong fan turnout and competitive racing, celebrating standout contributors including Manoël Nunes as Champion Jockey and Cumbre Veija as Champion Horse of the Year. These recognitions highlighted both local talent and the depth of competition throughout the campaign.
