Senegal.- Senegal’s National Lottery operator (LONASE) has hosted the director general of Niger’s national lottery (LONANI) in Dakar for a working visit focused on sharing experiences and strengthening ties between the two institutions. The meeting adds to a series of exchanges between LONASE and other African lottery operators. Discussions covered digital lottery sales, online betting regulation and the standardisation of operating practices.

LONASE director general Abdourahmane Baldé met with his LONANI counterpart, Colonel-Major Soumana Djibo, during the visit. LONASE said the meeting reflected its commitment to strengthening cooperation between African national lotteries in support of innovation, performance and development.

“Through this visit, LONASE reaffirms its commitment to dynamic cooperation between African national lotteries, in the service of innovation, performance, and development,” LONASE said in statement.

The visit follows a series of exchanges between LONASE and other lottery operators. In August, Gabon’s state gaming operator, La Gabonaise des Jeux (GDJ) conducted a five-day benchmarking mission at LONASE, examining lottery management, product development, sales, customer services and gaming technology. In February, LONASE also hosted Mali’s PMU Mali for discussions on operational practices, technology adoption, responsible gambling and institutional capacity. It also welcomed Mauritius’ Lottotech for talks that resulted in a strategic cooperation agreement covering innovation, staff development and technological capabilities.
