LONASE increases retailer commissions in Senegal network push
Senegal’s national lottery operator has increased retailer commissions and removed terminal paper roll costs as part of a campaign to strengthen commercial network performance.
Senegal.- The National Lottery of Senegal (LONASE) has increased retailer commission rates and removed terminal paper roll costs as part of efforts to support its commercial network.
The operator announced the changes in a promotional campaign notice on May 12, targeting its retail distribution network, describing the move as a reward for the commitment and performance of its commercial partners.
Under the revised structure, commissions for ALR agents (a category of LONASE lottery retailers) will rise from 8 per cent to 9 per cent, while commissions for PLR Privé (a private retail lottery service) will increase from 6.5 per cent to 7.5 per cent. Commissions for PLR LONASE services (LONASE-operated retail lottery services) will also rise from 4 per cent to 5 per cent.
At the same time, LONASE confirmed that thermal paper rolls used in terminals, previously charged to retailers at varying rates depending on machine type, will now be provided free of charge. LONASE said: “Because your commitment deserves to be rewarded, we are increasing commission rates, making terminal rolls free and creating more opportunities to improve performance,”
The move highlights LONASE’s growing focus on retailer incentives, operational support and commercial network performance across Senegal’s lottery sector.
In January 2026, LONASE formalised 86 service-provider roles as part of workforce reforms aimed at strengthening operational stability and improving network efficiency. In February, the operator expanded cooperation with Mauritius-based Lottotechon lottery innovation, retail technology and digital gaming services, with executives from both organisations meeting in Dakar to advance collaboration in areas including technology deployment, product development and responsible gaming practices.
