LONACI steps up project governance with new PMO in Côte d’Ivoire
Côte d’Ivoire’s National Lottery is putting a new project-management system in place as it looks to improve coordination, resource use and strategy execution.
Côte d’Ivoire.- Côte d’Ivoire’s National Lottery (LONACI) is setting up a Project Management Office (PMO) to improve how it plans, coordinates and manages its projects, as part of a wider effort to strengthen governance, optimise resources and improve strategy execution.
The initiative forms part of the vision carried out by LONACI Director General Dramane Coulibaly, with the lottery focused on developing a stronger approach to project management.
LONACI announced the move following two project management sessions held on September 16 and 17, bringing together members of its Board of Directors, department heads and managers.
The sessions examined the results of a project management maturity diagnosis and ways to improve LONACI’s project-management practices.
They also covered best practices, key factors for success and the responsibilities of those involved in LONACI’s projects. “Through the PMO, LONACI intends to take a new step in the execution of its strategy, by strengthening the mastery of its projects, optimising its resources, and coordinating its initiatives,” the lottery said.
The sessions were coordinated by Nila Aby Koné, Director of Planning and Monitoring, and led by consulting firm NOVATEC.
LONACI said the PMO is intended to strengthen its management of projects, optimise resources and coordinate its initiatives. The lottery said the approach reflects the General Directorate’s desire to permanently embed performance, rigour and efficiency at the heart of the company’s project management.
