PMU Mali benchmarks Côte d’Ivoire National Lottery to improve performance
The horse-racing betting operator sent a senior delegation to Côte d’Ivoire’s National Lottery for a two-day benchmarking mission.
Mali.- PMU Mali, the country’s horse-racing betting operator, sent a senior delegation to Côte d’Ivoire’s National Lottery (LONACI) for a two-day benchmarking mission held from September 3-4.
The PMU Mali delegation comprised Abdoul Karim Sidibé, deputy technical director-general, and Drissa Coulibaly, deputy commercial director. LONACI director-general Dramane Coulibaly and other LONACI officials welcomed the delegation during the visit.
PMU Mali said the mission was aimed at “strengthening its practices and continuously improving its performance” according to a statement.
The mission brings together two established gaming organisations in West Africa. PMU Mali operates across horse-racing, lottery and sports betting, while LONACI holds the World Lottery Association’s Level 3 Responsible Gaming certification, underscoring its commitment to player protection, risk management and international standards.
The LONACI visit follows a similar benchmarking mission to Senegal’s LONASE in February, when PMU Mali exchanged expertise on gaming operations, technology adoption, digitalisation and responsible gaming.
LONACI is also pursuing digitalisation and operational modernisation, including upgrades to its distribution network and stronger operational security. The operator is targeting FCFA744bn (US$1.33bn) in revenue in 2026, after generating more than FCFA650bn (US$1.16bn) in 2025.
