LGB, NGB engage punters on responsible gambling in Bochum
Officials used the event to encourage public participation in combating unlawful gambling.
South Africa.- The Limpopo Gambling Board (LGB), in partnership with the National Gambling Board (NGB) of South Africa, continued its responsible gambling awareness campaign with an outreach session at Bettabets Bochum on Tuesday, June 23, aimed at educating punters and members of the public about safer gambling practices.
The awareness drive focused on responsible gambling, problem gambling support services, illegal gambling activities, and the importance of using licensed gambling operators. Representatives from both regulators engaged directly with customers and community members, distributing educational materials and providing information on the risks associated with excessive gambling.
Participants were also informed about the signs of problem gambling and the support services available through South Africa’s Responsible Gambling Programme. Officials encouraged people experiencing gambling-related harm or those concerned about family members to seek assistance through the helpline. They also urged the public to report suspected illegal gambling operations to law enforcement agencies and regulatory authorities.

LGB and NGB officials used the event to encourage public participation in combating unlawful gambling by reporting suspected illegal operations to law enforcement agencies and regulatory authorities.
The outreach forms part of the Limpopo Gambling Board’s ongoing community engagement programme designed to promote responsible gambling behaviour, strengthen public awareness of gambling regulations and support efforts to reduce gambling-related harm across the province.
