NGB, LGB and Goldrush launch gambling awareness campaign in Limpopo
NGB said education remains its “strongest tool” for helping communities make informed choices.
South Africa.- The National Gambling Board (NGB) has joined forces with the Limpopo Gambling Board (LGB) and gaming operator Goldrush for an awareness campaign aimed at educating consumers about the risks associated with gambling and the importance of responsible play.
The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts by regulators and licensed operators to promote informed decision-making and strengthen consumer protection across the province. The campaign focuses on helping communities understand the risks linked to excessive gambling while encouraging responsible participation among adults who choose to gamble.
In a post released by the NGB on Thursday, June 4, the regulator said education remains its “strongest tool” for helping communities make informed choices, understand the risks of excessive gambling, and access support when needed.
Officials engaged directly with members of the public, and provided educational materials and guidance on safer gambling practices. The campaign also highlighted support services available to individuals experiencing gambling-related difficulties.
Goldrush’s involvement as a licensed operator provides industry support to the campaign, helping to deliver responsible gambling messages directly to players. Its participation is aimed at strengthening cooperation between regulators and operators in promoting safer gambling behaviour.
The awareness drive is expected to continue across communities in Limpopo as stakeholders work to increase public understanding of responsible gambling and reinforce consumer protection efforts.
