Guinea’s National Lottery opens doors to higher education with Master’s Degree scholarships
LONAGUI continues its commitment to education by funding Master’s degree programs, empowering students and promoting academic excellence.
Guinea.- The National Lottery of Guinea (LONAGUI) is reinforcing its commitment to education and youth empowerment through its national scholarship program, which provides funding for Guinean students pursuing Master’s degrees. The initiative reflects LONAGUI’s goal of creating opportunities for academic excellence and social progress.
The scholarship supports students through both years of a Master’s program, with the first year focused on advanced coursework and the second year where students specialise and complete a research project or thesis.
LONAGUI, which operates the country’s official lottery, channels proceeds from its operations into social programs, including scholarships, education initiatives and youth development across Guinea.
LONAGUI said in a statement: “This initiative aims to support deserving Guinean students in pursuing their Master’s studies by giving everyone the chance to turn their potential into success.”
The scholarship targets Guinean citizens under 35 who hold a Bachelor’s degree with honours, reside in Guinea and can present a clearly defined professional project that justifies their pursuit of higher studies. LONAGUI said it is committed to supporting these students and ensuring that the scholarships provide “meaningful opportunities for academic and professional growth”.
Building on success from previous years

The initiative is expected to follow the successful model of previous years. In 2024, 15 students benefited from full funding for their Master’s studies, including a monthly stipend of GNF500,000 (€50) for ten months per year over two years. The awards also promoted inclusivity, with three reserved for women, one for the most promising project and one social scholarship for students with disabilities or financial hardship.
Since its introduction in 2023, the LONAGUI Scholarship has become a flagship component of the lottery’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, highlighting its ongoing role in supporting education and empowering Guinea’s next generation of professionals.
