Guinea’s National Lottery empowers early education with textbook donation
LONAGUI donates textbooks to Primary School students in Conakry, boosting learning and supporting teachers.
Guinea.- Guinea’s National Lottery (LONAGUI) has donated a large batch of textbooks to Barry Diawadou Primary School in Dixinn, Conakry, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. The donation targets Grade 1 and Grade 2 students, providing essential resources to strengthen learning and support teachers in delivering quality education.
The textbooks, covering reading, mathematics and civic education, reflect LONAGUI’s commitment to advancing the national education system. By channelling lottery revenues into classrooms, the organisation demonstrates that games of chance can have a tangible social impact.
At the ceremony, Mohamed Baba Sylla, the Director-General of LONAGUI, handed out the books to students. Jacqueline Coker, advisor to the Director-General, highlighted the partnership with the National Agency for Education Financing (ANAFE). “Investing in education is investing in the future of Guinea,” she said, underscoring LONAGUI’s plan to extend similar initiatives to other schools nationwide.

Local authorities and school officials welcomed the donation, calling it a “noble and salutary” gesture. They noted that textbook shortages remain a persistent challenge in public schools and praised LONAGUI for its ongoing support in improving learning conditions for children.
Through initiatives like this, LONAGUI positions itself as more than a regulator and promoter of games of chance. By placing education, community and solidarity at the centre of its mission, the lottery helps build the foundations for a stronger, more empowered generation of Guinean youth.
