Gaming Tech Summit Africa postpones Dakar 2026 event

The Dakar edition was planned to extend the summit beyond Nairobi, where three editions have attracted more than 1,500 participants since 2024.

Kenya.- Gaming Tech Summit Africa (GTSA) has postponed its Dakar 2026 edition, which was scheduled to take place from November 25 to 27, with new dates yet to be announced. In an official statement on October 28, the organiser said the decision followed careful consideration by the event’s leadership. However, it did not disclose a specific reason for the postponement.

GTSA said further information, including the revised dates, would be communicated through its official website and social media channels. The team will also contact confirmed partners, sponsors, speakers and delegates directly regarding the next steps.

The postponement affects the summit’s first edition dedicated to Francophone Africa. The Dakar event was expected to bring together government institutions, gambling regulators, national lotteries, operators, technology companies and payment providers to discuss developments in Senegal’s gaming market and the wider Francophone African industry.

The Dakar edition was planned as the next stage in GTSA’s expansion after three editions in Nairobi, Kenya. The latest took place on June 4, 2026, under the theme Building Africa’s Sustainable & Scalable Gaming Tech Industry.

GTSA’s inaugural edition took place in Nairobi in 2024. According to the summit organisers, more than 1,500 participants have attended its three Nairobi editions since its launch. The 2025 edition drew delegates from 22 African countries, more than 50 speakers and representatives from over 25 regulatory bodies.

GTSA thanked its partners, stakeholders and prospective participants for their continued support and understanding. It said the team remained committed to delivering a successful summit and looked forward to welcoming industry representatives when the event takes place.
