Gaming showdown Conquest 2025 kicks off in Ghana with GHS85K prize pool
Ghana’s premier esports and gaming event returns from October 10-17, featuring EA Sports FC 25, NBA 2K25, Gran Turismo and African-made titles.
Ghana.- Ghana’s premier esports showdown, Conquest 2025, launches on October 10, bringing the nation’s top gamers together for a week of fierce competition, digital spectacle and high-stakes prizes. Running until October 17, the tournament features a record GHS85,000 (€6,200) prize pool, making it one of the most lucrative and widely anticipated gaming events in West Africa.
Powered by MTN, participants will compete in top titles including EA Sports FC 25, NBA 2K25 and Gran Turismo, with winners in EA FC 25 earning up to GHS7,000 (€510).
Organisers said this year’s edition expands to include nationwide qualifiers through partner gaming centres, building anticipation for a high-stakes grand finals that will crown Ghana’s top esports champions. “This bold move doesn’t just diversify the competition – it celebrates African creativity, storytelling and culture on the global esports stage,” said organisers, according to Nexal Gaming.

The inclusion of African titles reflects a push to showcase homegrown innovation and talent within the continent’s growing esports ecosystem. Beyond competition, Conquest serves as a hub for networking, community building and game development.
First held in 2019 as part of MTN iFest, Conquest has grown into Ghana’s most influential esports event, attracting students, hobbyists and professional players. The 2025 edition will also spotlight African-made titles such as Sweave and Africa’s Legends alongside international blockbusters.
Backed by MTN, Esports Association of Ghana, Esports Academy and LetiArts, Conquest 2025 continues to strengthen Ghana’s role in Africa’s gaming future.
