GamblePause and Gamecheck join forces to boost player protection across Africa
New partnership combines gambling-harm prevention with game-authentication technology to strengthen safer play across Africa.
Nigeria.- GamblePause Initiative Africa and Gamecheck have joined forces in a new partnership combining gambling-harm prevention, responsible gaming expertise and game-authentication technology to strengthen player protection across Africa.
The partnership was announced by GamblePause on August 25, just days after the launch of the organisation’s African-built player-protection app. Founder Ladipo Abiose Akolade said “Africa needs solutions that are built around its realities, its people and its communities,” in a LinkedIn post.
Akolade said the collaboration would create an opportunity to explore new ways of improving responsible gaming, player protection and harm prevention.
GamblePause says its player-protection platform was developed to protect minors, support vulnerable players and make safer-gambling tools more accessible across Africa. Its recently launched app provides self-exclusion, gambling-blocking tools, parental controls and access to support services, with GamblePause saying the platform is available in more than 40 African languages.
Gamecheck is an independent igaming verification platform that helps players establish whether online casino games are genuine or fake. The company investigates online casinos, works with game providers and uses verification tools to help players identify genuine games and avoid unauthorised or fake versions.
The new partnership brings these capabilities together, with Gamecheck focusing on game authenticity while GamblePause addresses gambling-related harm and safer play. Gamecheck has described the collaboration as giving players complementary forms of protection: its tools help players check whether online casino games are genuine, while GamblePause supports people dealing with gambling-related harm.
