DigiPlus sets 2027 date for South Africa entry

The operator said it expects to launch in South Africa in the second or third quarter of 2027 after receiving three licences from the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board.

South Africa.- DigiPlus Interactive Corp has announced it plans to launch its South African gaming operations in 2027. Andy Tsui, the company’s president, said the South African rollout is expected to take between nine and 12 months, mirroring the timeline of the company’s expansion into Brazil. He added that the launch could take place in the second or third quarter of 2027.

The Philippines-listed operator received approval from the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board in April for three licences: a national manufacturer licence, a bookmaker licence and a bookmaker premises licence.

DigiPlus said the Western Cape accounted for about 31 per cent of South Africa’s online gaming revenue in 2025, making it one of the country’s key regulated gambling markets. The company first filed its South African licence applications in September 2025 as part of a broader international expansion strategy.

South Africa will become DigiPlus’ second overseas market after Brazil, where the company is preparing to relaunch operations later this year. DigiPlus said experience gained from Brazil, including expertise in localisation and regulatory compliance, would help support its entry into the South African market.
