Côte d’Ivoire National Lottery spotlights native languages with FCFA50 000 prize
Players across the country are invited to express themselves in their mother tongue for a chance to win €76, highlighting Côte d’Ivoire’s rich linguistic diversity.
Côte d’Ivoire.- The Côte d’Ivoire National Lottery (LONACI) is celebrating Africa’s rich linguistic heritage with a bold new campaign. Players now have the chance to showcase their native language and win FCFA50,000 (€76) in the process.
LONACI said: “Speak your native language with the Côte d’Ivoire National Lottery where you can win the amazing sum of FCFA50,000.”
Across Côte d’Ivoire, people are submitting short messages and phrases in their native languages, highlighting their cultural identity and personal heritage. In communities like Koumassi, videos and posts show residents speaking, laughing and writing in their mother tongues, bringing the contest to life and highlighting the country’s vibrant linguistic diversity.
The campaign also underscores LONACI’s central role in the country’s gambling sector. The state-backed operator runs a range of regulated games, including lottery draws, instant scratch tickets, sports betting and PMU horse racing. It has introduced high-value scratch cards such as Mon Auto and Villa Dorée.
In 2025, LONACI redistributed nearly FCFA414bn (€628m) in winnings to players and increased contributions to the State by 40 per cent, underlining its dual role as both a major entertainment provider and a key contributor to national finances.
