Burkina Faso National Lottery ramps up year-end operations ahead of 2026
Director General Zarani highlights staff achievements and 2026 budget preparation as the National Lottery strengthens national engagement and social responsibility.
Burkina Faso.- Burkina Faso’s National Lottery (LONAB) is intensifying its year-end activities, signalling a strong close to 2025 while reinforcing its commitment to social responsibility and national engagement.
The state-run lottery recently held its monthly flag-raising ceremony, a gathering that brought staff together to review the year’s work. During the event, Director General Ibrahim Ben Harouna Zarani praised employees for their contributions to national initiatives and outlined the organisation’s priorities for the remainder of the year.
Zarani said: “The team has done remarkable work appreciated by everyone. As the year draws to a close, we are preparing the 2026 budget, with drafts from all divisions compiled and awaiting approval before submission to the Board of Directors.”
LONAB recently contributed CFA100m (€152,000) to sponsor the 36th edition of the Tour du Faso. The lottery has also participated in cultural events such as the FESPACO film festival, reflecting its wider engagement with the community in 2025.
With the year coming to an end, LONAB is mobilising staff across the organisation to ensure the successful completion of 2025 activities and prepare for operations in 2026.
While LONAB has not published its 2026 budget document, it said drafts are being compiled and submitted for approval. LONAB’s strategic plan for 2016-2025 lists values such as professionalism, integrity, solidarity, innovation and responsibility, which guide its operations and social engagement.
